Wheelchair Access Adelphi Theatre London
Theatre Access
Access to the theatre is via the main entrance. The access host will then escort you in the lift to the lower stalls level.

At this level there is a bar, accessible toilet and a corridor to the stalls. At the interval this corridor can become very busy with people queuing for the bar.

The theatre itself is on a slight incline but very manageable. We were advised to either leave very promptly or wait until most epople had left before attempting to leave. We chose the latter and had no issues leaving.

Access Host

The access host was very helpful, they greeted us upon arrival, and helped us access the lift down to the stalls.
They showed us to our seats band checked on us at the interval. l was escorted to and from the toilet and at the end of the show they met us and helped us exit via the lift again.

Seat and Staging
We sat in wheelchair space E2 and companion seat E3.

Several seats had been removed to accommodate the wheelchair so there was plenty of space. Being at the end of the aisle I didi have to manoeuvre quite a bit during the interval to let people in and out of the row as there was no space to the side to stay out of the way.

The view was great and as the stage was so high everyone behind me had a good view as well. Due to the height of the stage you do spend the whole show looking up so I'm not sure how comfortable this would be if you had neck problems.

Toilets
The toilet was located in stalls bar of the theatre.

You don't need a radar key to access it which meant that there were several people queuing who did not need to use the access toilet. Staff made sure that I had priority over these other users but I felt quite awkward asking them to move for me.

The toilet is a good size and there is not enough space to side transfer.

I visited in August 2024 and all views expressed above are my personal opinion.
It was my first visit to the Ambassadors Theatre
